In line with our global companies’ medical agenda this platform supports the application of a FME Research Grant to support non-commercial research projects under consideration of relevant research areas of focus in EMEA.
Investigator-initiated studies (IIS) are non-commercial trials or research projects initiated by the sponsor (researchers, investigators, institutions) who is furthermore responsible for the legal and regulatory responsibilities of the trial for the conduct and management of the study as defined by all applicable laws and regulations.1
IIS can play a key role in answering important medical and scientific questions regarding FME’s products and their related therapeutic areas and contribute towards enhancing the understanding of FME’s products and their appropriate application.
1 FME will only undertake IIS with third-party sponsors/investigators that are able to demonstrate clear evidence of high ethical and scientific standards as it relates to clinical research in human subjects as stipulated by the International Conference of Harmonization (ICH) Efficacy Guidelines E6 (GCP). In addition, investigators undertaking non-clinical studies using animal subjects will have to provide equivalent evidence of ethical standards and/or Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).
Fresenius Medical Care supports non-commercial company researchers, individual investigators and third-party sponsors like institutions, collaborative study groups or cooperative groups that are interest in a financial support or in the access to our global clinical database. Fresenius Medical Care decides on a case-by-case situation which IIS meets the internal requirements of Fresenius Medical Care´s research focus areas and reserves the right to reject any application at its own discretion, as well as approve in full or only in part.
Please feel free to attach additional documents, as applicable.
Please note that only complete applications can be considered for the internal review process. The internal review process includes the evaluation of the study project by an independent internal committee which consists of FME experts with a vast medical and scientific expertise. Fresenius Medical Care reserves the right to reject any application in case the application documents are incomplete.
